   The Department of “Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering” at the Technical University of Sofia was established in 1966 as a result from the separation of the joint Department of “Theoretical and Measuring Electrical Engineering”.

 

The Department of “Theoretical Electrical Engineering” has 9 members:

 Ø Professors - 2 ;

 Ø Associate Professors - 4 ;

 Ø Assistant Professors - 2 ;

 Ø Assistants - 1 ;

 Ø Technical Assistant - 1 ;

 Ø PhD Students - 1 ( regular ), 3 ( part-time )

 

Teachers with D.Sc. degree 1

Teachers with science degree PhD – 8.

 

Defended other dissertations, lead by members of the Department – 19.

 

Teaching activities: courses, taught by lectures of the Department – 12.

 

Publishing : manuals and textbooks, which members of the Department are authors or co-authors – 42 monographs and books – 12.

 The MDPI Electronics Journal’s “Electronics 2023 Best Paper Award” for research and review articles published in Electronics from 1 January to 31 December in 2023 is awarded to the paper Predictive Maintenance for Distribution System Operators in Increasing Transformers’ Reliability by Vasiliki Vita,Georgios Fotis,Veselin Chobanov,Christos Pavlatos and Valeri Mladenov Electronics 2023, 12(6)https://doi.org/10.3390/electronics12061356 - 12 Mar 2023, that includes co-authors from Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering department of TU-Sofia, Faculty of Automatics.
